hey guys, how's everyone doing this week? Hope everything's fine and dandy :) This post is gonna be about my fren's gig recently at The Laundry. To refresh some minds, i was called in as a favor to stand in for my friend Janice Yap as backing vocals for her first debut live unplugged appearance. I have to say that it was overall a good nite as the reviews came in the day after. For the band and myself, it's been a priviledge working along side crazily-talented people all in the name of love for the passion of music. Surprisingly this time the butterflies in my stomach weren't fluttering like the usual crazy days before the performance, everything was pretty calm and collected. The stage was pretty relaxing with cashmere carpets pinned in the background of the stage. I love the loungy atmosphere!!! and the chairs wasn't the best but it did a whole lot to help me relax when singing. Was introduced that night as a tenor but as actually a soprano singer, which i thought was funny cuz' that night i had to sing higher harmony parts for janice and her range in voice is quite high. Newcomer Soul and R&B singer, Liang said later that nite after the performance that 'I was MAD!!!' with the falsetto parts. Really thank God for being there with us that nite as we venture out into the community to "minister". Opportunities like this usually don't come just like that and when you have a story or message in your song that needs to reach the attention to the people outside, this was the chance. At the end of the day as long as the message gets across is what matters as janice said. And by that i believe should be the very passionate heartbeat of any artistes. Forget the money and the fame...
