As my final mag cover design is pending, i just decided to share more on the other project that i'm working at. The pic below was an initial idea i had by using one picture and cutting it up into strips and reforming the whole image again in variable of highs & lows rendering the pic to look as if it's cut up but yet it's not as the form of the pic still remains but in a slight different interpretation signifying the directors creativity to be able to see what people can't see when it comes to creating a perfect movie. My theme for the melbourne international film festival is entitled director's cut. Visually i wanted to say that the director's so-called choice cuts makes up the masterpiece. The second pic is the final piece that i'm settling for, it's been a long day trying to get the different strips right and also at the same time watching the balance with the white space. It's kind of an illusion when you look at it, visually exciting and weird as well cuz' there seems to be the whole picture in it but it's cut up and rotated around at different angles and at the same time the white space seem like spotlights pointing towards the logotype. Reminds me of the 20th Century Fox thingy. Overall i'm happy with how it turned out even on the first draft, never really had the time to think about this one. My thanks and gratitude to the guy in class who gave me the idea to this one.
